My film Ambulance has been screened during the days of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam - IDFA2016, as a part of the program Best of Fests. there was 5 screenings for the film, and I supposed to be present there with the film! but unfortunately I couldn't! because of my visa situation! AMBULANCE- IDFA 2016
Also on Sunday the 20th of November there was another screening for Ambulance in Sydney During the Palestinian Film Festival - Australia - http://palestinianfilmfestival.com.au/films/ambulance
also I'm very happy that the film was screened at the Houses of Parliament in London, Tuesday 22 November 2016

So happy that my film Ambulance was the opening film of the 2016 Global Health Film Festival which is taking place in the Barbican, Europe's largest arts venue in London. I had very interesting Q&A on Skype, I supposed to be there! but I couldn't! because of my visa situation, also we have the ambulance car installation exhibited as part of the event in the Barbican with portal to Gaza, VR and live talk with doctors from Gaza
Anyway for all my friends in Germany who lives close to Braunschweig, Tomorrow Saturday my film also will be screening during the days of 30th Braunschweig International Film Festival 2016, The film also will compete with seven other films in the section Beyond: War for “The Black Lion” award سعيد جداً بأن فيلمي إسعاف قد كان الفيلم الإفتتاحي لمهرجان الصحة العالمي للأفلام 2016 الذي يقام في باربيكان، أكبر مركز الفنون في أوروبا في لندن، وتم عرض سيارة على شكل إسعاف كجزء من الحدث في باربيكان مع حوار، وعرض لبعض أفلام VR والحديث المباشر مع بعض الأطباء من غزة. وسيكون هناك عرض آخر للفيلم غداً في المانيا، ضمن مهرجان براونشفايغ السينمائي الدولي، والفيلم أيضا سوف يتنافس مع سبعة أفلام أخرى ضمن قسم بعدها: الحرب من أجل جائزة "بلاك ليون - الأسد الأسمر" |

DABOOS - A short film by Mohamed Jabaly
The story behind the film is based on a realistic story about three friends reflections on their leisure time. These guys live in Gaza with a lot of free time and being together every day, trying to live their lives the best they can with passion and happiness. The situation of the city on the other hand, makes them mad and not feel well! This affects the friends to do bad stuff and look for a different route in life. Now it’s about escaping the impending tragedy, to awake from a nightmare which is taking over.
The film aims to highlight the youths leisure time, embodied by the central figure”Daboos”, a young man who is trying to escape the reality and responsibilities of human life.
The story behind the film is based on a realistic story about three friends reflections on their leisure time. دبوس/ فيلم قصير – سيناريو وإخراج: محمد الجبالي
يقوم الفيلم على دراما واقعية تحاكي ثلاث أصدقاء، تجمع بينهم صحبة المساء، وحب الحياة، يجلسوا كل ليلة لينادو السعادة، طريقهم بسيط ولكن سوء حال البلد جعلهم يلجئوا إلى طريق مختلف لينجّروا من خلاله إلى عرك الحياة للهروب من مآساة الواقع، ينشأ بينهم جسر مبني على الوهم و أمل صنع التغيير، وفي أحد الليالي يجلسون كما روتين الايام السابقة، ليسهرون ويتسامروا في حديث البلد وحينها ينجروا إلى صراع خالي من الآمال، بسقوط أحدهم أرضاً على أنغام موسيقية، حيث ينتهي بهم المطاف إلى إنغلاق تام وتوتر يصيب المكان، يبدأو بالتفكير من خلال مرورهم عبر مساحة حلم. كمثال لقصة واقعية، يهدف الفيلم إلى تسليط الضوء على أوقات فراغ الشباب، حيث سيتم تجسيد القصة عبر شخصية محورية (دبوس) والتي تتمثل بالهروب من واقع الحياة الذي دمرتها خبايا المجتمع وفراغ الوقت. |

محمد الجبالي: غزةّ داخل سيارة - إسعــــاف
إسلام السقا رام الله | يشهد هذا العام خروج عدد من الأفلام الفلسطينية التي تحاول جذب انتباه العالم إلى القضايا التي تشغلها. وتأتي هذه الأفلام في سياق الاهتمام العالمي الجديد بالسينما الفلسطينية خلال السنوات القليلة الماضية. كان من الطبيعي امتداد هذا التسارع في الإنتاج الفنّي المحلّي ليصل إلى قطاع غزّة، كونه يشكّل أرضيّة غنيّة يمكن عبرها إبراز رواية فلسطينية جديد وفريدة ومليئة بالأحداث والقصص غير المحكية. أفلام يُعتبر وجودها تحديّاً كبيراً كونها خرجت في العام الذي شهدت فيه المدينة حربها الأشرس على الإطلاق. هكذا، قرر المخرج الشاب محمد الجبالي من مدينة غزّة، أن ينضم إلى طاقم وحدة إسعاف ميداني أثناء عملها في العدوان الإسرائيلي الأخير على قطاع غزّة في تموز (يوليو) الماضي. من دون أي فرصة للفهم أو التحليل، كانت كاميرا الجبالي تدور من موقع مواجهة مشتعل إلى آخر، متعرّضاً مع طاقم الإسعاف لخطر الموت خلال كل ثانية. يشكّل الجبالي تجربة غزيّة جديدة وفريدة. عبر عمله المكثّف في مجال صناعة الأفلام، استطاع أخيراً أن يتغلّب على حالة اليأس والإحباط المسيطرة على الحياة اليوميّة في غزّة، وقام بصنع فيلمه الطويل الأوّل في ظروف شبه مستحيلة، ومجنونة تماماً. يرتبط الفيلم التسجيلي بالفكر الفني الجديد الذي بدأ بالتوسّع في أوساط الفنانين الفلسطينيين الشباب، والقائم على عدم التركيز على صورة الدم، بل على الوجه الأكثر إيلاماً من صور الأشلاء، وأيضاً على الجمال الروحي الذي يحاول المحتل تشويهه يومياً وبكل شراسة، وذلك --- المزيد |

Ambulance film (work in progress) During Tromsø Internasjonale Filmfestival

The city of Gaza was the target of an Israeli military operation in July and August 2014. Filmmaker Mohamed Jabaly wanted to document the human costs of the attacks, and decided to join an ambulance staff, knowing they would be on the front line constantly. They were treating injuries when possible and when it wasn’t, they evacuated the wounded from all over the Gaza strip to hospitals and safe shelters. Jabaly’s camera was rolling continuously, capturing difficult scenes directly, with no distance, no chance to analyze.
This film shows both daily life in Gaza during the attacks and the routines of the ambulance staff. Not only how they put their lives in danger to save others, but also in the moments of normality: joking, dreaming and remembering what ordinary life without war is like. |
